The Gauja is an interesting and beautiful river that flows south-east through Dieveniškės. It flows into the Dieveniškės region from Belarus, after ~30 km. In Lithuania, it returns to Belarus and flows into the Nemunas. The Gauja is quite fast flowing and meandering, so you won't be sad or bored during your swim. A water trip on this river is suitable for beginners. River is cold even on the hottest summer day, which will allow you to refresh yourself and enjoy kayaking even more. The route is beautiful and scenic. There is also the possibility of paddling on the Merk, the Salcha and the Visincha rivers.
